Official launch of “Google-Blog-Converters-appengine”, an important day to remember in the evolution of blogging. A project dedicated to a number of converters to and from different Blog services. Code is written in python released with scripts to execute the conversions either on the command-line, through a Windows batch script, or hosted on Google App Engine. Import/export options to and from various web blogging platforms like wordpress, Movable Type, and Live jouornal, have been a series concern for all Blogger users. This project aims to resolve the problem.
Following blog conversions are supported in the first stage,
An extra mile traveled by Google on this conversion project is, for novice bloggers instead of installing python in their PC, with just few click events they can upload convert and download the files online.

Web based tool size is limited to 1 MB
Neither this project nor the conversion tool is an out of the box idea. It is a Big tool for the frequent web blog platform movers. Gone are the days in which you copy each one of your post content and rewrite with the new platform.

Feature gainers are Blogger based users.
Blogger had import/export feature only for blogger platform. This feature will enable wordpress to blogger movers to convert all their posts, tags, categories, user accounts and publish smoothly. This project is expected to increase more users to blogger, since this is only a new feature to blogger users. Since the blogging is moving towards more of a personalized domain name based publishing then a traditional sub-domain based free service, we believe this project will enable more users to come away from blogger easier than ever.
Market gainers will be web blogging platform providers than web blogging service providers.
Traditionally, Blogging as a serious habit stream line starts from online/portal based free service and then in to own domain name based, hosted service. Convert tools for smooth migration will help bloggers to move their posts from blogger to the hosted web blogging platform.
“Miles to go before I sleep” worth stating here, This project has a long a way to go. It will be a vital tool for bloggers for sure. As a hosting provider Hexahost welcomes all such projects to increase Tools and features to bloggers.
