    comparison is good. It is possible to have email with google Aps with your own domain. with your own host it could be a built in functionality.

    I am thinking about taking my own domain name

    Google aps will allow you to have email with other google functionalities, but it is a different service from other provider. Question is, is it your service for your domain/email ?
